Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about transcription, translation, credits, and the tools. Can't find what you need? Email us at support@transcribridge.com.

What file formats can I upload?

TranscriBridge accepts most common audio and video formats: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WEBM, AVI, WMV, MPEG, and 3GP. If your file plays in a standard media player, it will almost certainly work.

Is there a file size or length limit?

Uploads are limited to 500 MB and 2 hours of audio or video per file. Files outside those limits should be split before uploading. Most recordings like meetings, interviews, and podcast episodes fall well within these limits.

How accurate is the transcription?

Transcription uses an AI speech recognition model running on our servers. Accuracy is high for clear speech in quiet recordings. Background noise, heavy accents, or overlapping speakers will reduce accuracy, as with any automated transcription tool.

What languages can be transcribed?

A wide range of spoken languages are supported. The source language is detected automatically from the audio and you do not need to specify it ahead of time. Best results tend to come from widely spoken languages such as English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese.

What is the SRT translation tool?

The SRT tool lets you upload an existing .srt subtitle file and translate it into another language without re-transcribing anything. It preserves the original timing so the translated file works as a drop-in replacement.

How are SRT translation characters counted?

Only the subtitle text is counted. Timestamps and blank lines are not charged. A typical 2-hour film often uses around 40,000 to 60,000 subtitle text characters.

Do my purchased credits expire?

No. Paid transcription minutes and paid SRT translation characters do not expire. The free monthly allowance resets on the first day of each calendar month.

How are transcription minutes charged?

Minutes are charged based on the duration of the uploaded file, rounded up to the nearest minute. A 3 minute 42 second recording is charged as 4 minutes.

How is my uploaded audio handled?

Files are stored temporarily on secure servers to complete the transcription job. We do not use your audio or transcripts to train AI models or retain them beyond what is needed to deliver your results.

Is my data safe?

Connections to TranscriBridge are encrypted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, so we do not store your card details.
